Had Bon not died, Angus and Malcolm would have sacked him. The albums with Bon, excluding Highway to Hell, were not commercially successful in the United States until after Back in Black. With all the competition at that time and the way music was going, Bon would not be the right fit for continued success. He didn't have the edge. He also seems to have lacked the desire to continue such an arduous adventure. That is just my thought.
